Spotlight Writer
Introducing Michele Morin!
Michele is a teacher, blogger, reader, and gardener who finds joy in sitting at a table surrounded by women with open Bibles. She has been married to an unreasonably patient husband for nearly 30 years, and together they have four sons, two daughters-in-love, two grandchildren, and one lazy St. Bernard.
Michele loves hot tea and well-crafted sentences, poems that stop her in her tracks and days at the ocean with the whole family. She laments biblical illiteracy and advocates for the prudent use of “little minutes.”
She blogs at Living Our Days where she writes about the books she is reading and the grace she is receiving.
When did you begin your blogging journey and why?
I began writing a devotional column for my church’s website, and slowly gained confidence to begin a blog on my own. I’ve always been an avid reader and a dabbler in poetry and essays, but having a blog gave me a place to bring it all together and some accountability to “show up” for a growing family of readers.
Five Faves
Fave Food- Yogurt with fruit and granola
Fave television show- Downton Abbey
Fave Bible character- Huldah
Fave childhood memory- Huge snowbanks in Northern Maine! My sister and I played outside in the snow until our (matching) snowsuits were soaked.
Fave Quote- Annie Dillard said, “How we live our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
That quote became so meaningful to me in the early mothering days when the minutes were flying by with, seemingly, so little accomplished. However, in those days, relationship capital was accruing with my sons, and foundations were being laid for character and resiliency in all of us!
When it came time to give my blog a name, Living Our Days seemed like an obvious choice.
Fun Fact
I love to sing. I don’t have a great voice, but I do have a pretty good ear and can almost always find a part. My high school and college social life pretty much centered around a piano with a group of people singing one song after another.
Prayer Prompt
Family, ministry, and writing are the three pillars of my schedule and my life. I want to be faithful in all three and to give the right amount of attention in the right space at the right time. My greatest desire is to be fully present to God’s assignment for each moment.

Making a Commitment to Blessing
The ping of a message changed my day: “Let’s take food to a friend who needs encouragement.”
“Well, why not?” I asked myself, and began pondering the joyful outcome that always arises from random acts of blessing.
I’ve always wanted to be an extrovert — or at least an optimist.
Failing at both, I’m thankful to be a Christian, for when Scripture presides over any natural tendencies I may have to hunker down and spend my whole life “ordering my private world,” I get to move outside my comfort zone and to make a commitment to be a blessing to others.. {Continue reading}
