Did you know it’s possible to build meaningful friendships through the power of story?

“Beautiful day,” I heard the voice say as I helped my toddler trudge her way up the hill from the lake.

I lifted my head ever so slightly to see an older gentleman, probably in his 70’s, sitting alone on the picnic bench, just a stone’s throw away.

On any other day, I most likely would have responded with a friendly smile, maybe a nod, and then continued on my way.

But this was not any other day..
